SIO-Driver is a 'stay resident' program that enables the Atari ST to use an 8-bit disk drive. The 8-bit drive can be accessed from the desktop or from an application just as any other drive would be. With SIO-Driver installed, you can read/write/copy/delete files on the 8-bit disk drive, just like any other drive. You can do anything that a regular drive can do except boot from it. The file system used on the drive is the ST's file system. IMPORTANT: You can NOT read and write 8-bit Atari files. The disks used by this program become ST disks. The program uses the ST's printer port to connect to the drive and emulates the 8-bit Serial Input/Output (SIO). You need the XformerII (or similar) cable.
