The TINY BASIC language originated in the pages of Dr. DOBB'S JOURNAL and PEOPLE'S COMPUTER COMPANY in late 1975 and early 1976. Fed by the enthusiasm of early computer hobbyists and by the challenges and oportunities created by the early microcomputer chips, the idea of a tiny basic interpreter quickly gained popularity and acceptance.
