It is an overhead view game in which you move your character around a large playing area gathering food, water, keys, axes and other objects. Certain keys open certain doors and certain objects give you safe passage in other 'worlds'. The aim is to collect all objects in each world and move on to the next. Each world is separated from the next by a masive abyss and the only way to travel between them is by using the transporter cards which you collect during your travels. Avalon comes with no docs and the in-game text is entirely French but don't let that put you off. The objective is simple and gameplay is obvious. Hours of entertainment for fans of Gauntlet, Nethack and other games of this genre. STE ONLY.
